Hi and happy Tuesday! I didn’t end up writing this post on Sunday because I returned from Michigan too late (thanks to the ever-present construction on I-75 >:|), but had a chance to type it up last night…
Adam came to Michigan for the weekend as well, but since his flight didn’t get in until 11 p.m. I had a few hours to hang out at my parents’ and go to Lifetime. Once I picked Adam up, we drove to Ann Arbor to see our college friends. The last few times I’ve been there we’ve visited bars on Main Street, where the clientele is a little bit older, but on this trip we went with the sticky-floored undergrad classics housed in basements. I therefore don’t have many quality pictures to share, but here’s one of Adam sleeping on a half-deflated air mattress afterward.
My mom had gotten tickets for our family as well as a few aunts, uncles, and cousins to the International Champions Cup game between the Real Madrid and Chelsea soccer teams at Michigan Stadium. The day started out with thunderstorms, but luckily it didn’t rain during the match.
Afterward, we went to Connor O’Neil’s for delicious shepherd’s pie.
Once the fam returned home, I met Adam and the guys at Charley’s, another favorite of ours. Here they are Facetiming Adam’s parents…
…before my second dinner of late-night No Thai, where I told anyone who would listen that pad Thai is the perfect food because it has great textures and can satisfy a craving for any flavor. I seriously love pad Thai.
After a quick McDonald’s breakfast (hashbrown and Egg McMuffin for me, four hashbrowns for Adam), I drove Adam to his parents’ house so he could spend the day with them before heading back to Florida and went to my grandma’s birthday party in Grosse Pointe.
I stuffed my face for the second time in three hours, then sat in the aforementioned traffic for a very long time with no new podcasts. I’ll have to go back and download some of the recommendations you guys provided on this post!
Hope your week is off to a great start. 🙂
