Good morning! How was your weekend? I didn’t get up to much – it rained buckets here, which was the excuse I needed to spend my Saturday and Sunday reading and watching the Olympics. Hopefully the recent humidity will break as the rain stops – I got out of my car at work on Thursday to the air pressing in on me and a million cicadas buzzing in the tall trees that surround our campus, and it sort of felt like the apocalypse was coming. Or maybe I just wished it was so that I wouldn’t have to work.
Anyway, today I’m sharing a quick review of the Tresemme Beauty Full Volume Reverse System shampoo and conditioner. The goal of reverse washing, or using conditioner on your hair before shampoo, is to increase volume while still keeping strands healthy and smooth. There are other, more expensive systems on the market, but Tresemme’s is the only drugstore version I know of.
Today’s post includes reviews of my favorite sea salt sprays, as well as a trick for making scrunched curls or waves turn out great every time!
Happy Thursday! I hope everyone’s surviving the heat. They keep it nice and frigid in our office, so I’ve been managing my wardrobe for the fifty-degree temperature difference between my desk and the other side of the door I set ten feet from.
Anyway, boring complaint over. Do you guys ever use sea salt sprays? I wear my hair wavy more often in this kind of humidity since the effort to straighten it often goes to waste. In the past I always held my waves with some kind of gel, but I’ve been spritzing on sea salt spray lately instead. I love the more natural look it offers.
Hello, hello! How was your weekend? Mine was full of various errands and a little soccer (literally a little, because my team in a tournament at work lost our first two games in a double-elimination setup. But I did “forget” to put sunscreen on my face, so I at least got some color).
Today, since I mostly review newer beauty/skincare/hair products on the blog, I thought it would be fun to share the ones I’ve used for years and keep returning to even as others come and go. Also, I have spent a lot of time hunched over my monitor at work like a gremlin as of late, and nothing particularly unique came to mind for this post.
Hi! I hope you’re having a fabulous Tuesday. We’ve been enjoying lots of humidity here, so my hair has looked great.
Today’s post is the second in a series on my favorite budget beauty picks (click the link to read part 1). I meant to finish this installment, which focuses on eye makeup, a little bit sooner, but I ended up testing a few losers and also forgetting what products I had already planned to include. I took out my makeup bag to take photos on Sunday and found five things I’d recently bought but had yet to try. Probably losing it. Here we go…
Happy Thursday! How is your week going? I’ve been a little off for the last couple days, so I’m looking forward to happy hour with some friends tonight and then soaking up more nice weather this weekend. Anyway…follow the jump for my monthly Birchbox review!
I know it’s the end of the week when I stare at the floor for twenty minutes trying to gather my thoughts and start a post. Are you doing anything fun this weekend? I’m (obviously) looking forward to catching up on sleep. I try not to have caffeine after lunch unless I really need it, but I bought a can of Diet Mountain Dew and some Easter jelly beans in the cafe every afternoon this week. That’s my personal recipe for feeling great.
Moving on…I’ve had some inexpensive beauty products from Target in my makeup arsenal for a while and recently tried a bunch more. I ended up gathering too many to share in one post, so this will be the first in a little series. Below I’ll cover my favorites for face and lips, and you can watch for haircare, skincare, and eye makeup posts later this month.
Goood morning! I somehow walked into work today with freshly melted chocolate on the knee of my pants despite drinking a smoothie for breakfast, if anyone’s wondering how mine went. Or just read on for my monthly Birchbox review…
If I’ve learned anything in my almost three years in the workforce, it’s that even if you don’t think you enjoy online shopping, you can learn to like it by spending many of your waking hours sitting in front of a computer. Choosing an afternoon snack from the rainbow of Girl Scout cookie boxes that pop up in the office at this time of year and opening a package can be a great afternoon pick-me-up, especially if you don’t remember what you ordered.
I’ve read about several new skincare products and ingredients lately, so I made them the focus of my last online shopping trip. I tried a rosewater hydrating spray, a coffee-based lip scrub and balm, and a face wash made with baking soda. Here’s what I thought… Continue reading →
