November Birchbox Review

I’m a huge fan of Birchbox, the subscription beauty service that sends you samples of five new products each month.  I only end up buying the full-size items once in a while because my everyday routine is pretty simple, but I love having quality trial size products to use at the gym and while traveling.  And it’s fun to mix things up for a few days!  Here’s what I got in my November box:

RUSK Texture Spray, Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm, Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Daily Exfoliating Polish, Temple Spa La La Lagoon Aromatic Bath & Shower Gel, theBalm FratBoy shadow/blush

Rusk Texture Spray

This is a finishing spray I used on my hair after blowing it out.  It was very similar to the Sally Hershberger 24K dry shampoo I previously reviewed here.  It added nice volume, but nothing earth-shattering :).

Dr. Lipp Miracle Balm

My lips have been chapped since tailgating for a Michigan football game on a cold day weeks ago, and no amount of Eos would heal them.  This finally did the trick.  It was difficult to squeeze out of the tube and apply because it’s so thick, but that was a small price to pay.

Christie Brinkley Authentic Skincare Complete Clarity Daily Facial Exfoliating Polish

It’s a little difficult to review skincare products after just one use, but my skin looked even and calm after using this exfoliating face wash.  I’d recommend it for sensitive skin, since it was also fragrance free.

Temple Spa La La Lagoon Aromatic Bath & Shower Gel

I probably won’t spend $18 on a shower gel, but I loved the mint-and-basil scent of this product.

theBalm Frat Boy Shadow/Blush

I had never heard of theBalm before, but learned it was developed by a former television producer named Marissa Simon in her San Fransisco kitchen about ten years ago.  I loved the fun packaging and perfect pinkish-peach shade of this blush.  I’ll be ordering the full-size item and possibly even trying this reasonably priced palette.

Did you receive any of the same products this month?  What did you think?
