Hi, friends! How are you? I just ate two bowls of cereal and two bowls of ice cream for dinner and may collapse soon, so let’s get right into my May Birchbox review…
Viva Liberata Fabulous Self Tanning Gradual Lotion | $30
This smelled nothing like self-tanner – a good thing! – so I didn’t think to wash my hands after using it for the first time. Of course, I woke up the next morning with dark orange stains between my fingers that didn’t come off for a week. I did make sure to wash off any excess with the next application, but the color still came out a little streaky around my wrists and ankles. I would definitely recommend Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer over this product for a gradual tan – it works better for less than a third of the price.
Davines LOVE Smoothing Shampoo | $25
I thought I lost this guy (the sample in the photos above is actually a bonus conditioner that was also included in the box), but found it last night when I finally unpacked the bag I took to Florida for the weekend. So, here is a picture of him all by his lonesome.
I have wavy hair that’s neither greasy nor dry and loved the formula of this shampoo. It smoothed my hair without weighing it down, plus the sample will probably last a couple weeks. It smells like lavender but a little bit brighter and fresher.
ModelCo Lip Lacquer in Morocco | $24
I liked this product a lot – it wasn’t too sticky, and the shade was a pretty nude for my medium skin. I’d consider ordering another, but I already own 9,000 half-used lip glosses.
Supergoop! Everyday SPF 50 with Cellular Response Technology | $32
This didn’t make my face oily or cause breakouts, which is a win since my skin is easily bothered even by many oil-free products. I would buy the full-size if my makeup didn’t already contain SPF and I needed to add a separate layer of sunscreen. And if I didn’t spend the majority of my daylight hours inside.
W3LL PEOPLE Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer in Light | $22.50
I normally depend on my medium-coverage foundation for any blemishes that might need hiding, but didn’t mind spending a couple extra minutes working this into my routine for the last few days. It helped my foundation stay in place and the shade matched my skin tone well.
Any products you’ve been loving lately? I’m always up for trying something new 🙂 also, check back at the end of the week for my latest round of Friday Favorites!
