Happy Wednesday – hope you’re staying warm! Read on for my monthly Birchbox review…
Whish Three Wishes Body Butter in Almond | $24
This is kind of your standard shea butter lotion. While the almond-raspberry scent is unique and I’m always glad to have a sample for my desk drawer, most lotions I’ve bought at Target work just as well for a third of the price.
Real Chemistry Luminous 3-Minute Peel | $48
I didn’t notice a difference right away after using this peel, but my skin did look calmer and more even the next morning. It was also gentle enough not to irritate or dry out my skin.
Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre | $28
I applied this moisturizing cream before my foundation primer as instructed. It absorbed into my skin quickly enough, but I think that was mostly due to all the cold, dry air of the past couple weeks. This product is a little heavy for everyday use if you don’t have dry skin.
Eyeko Fat Liquid Eyeliner | $16
I liked that this product was a nice deep black, and the thick packaging made it easy to grip. However, the formula was a little dry and hard to swipe on evenly. I tried it out at night and removed shortly after, but many of the reviews I read said it didn’t have much staying power.
Beauty Protector Protect & Detangle Spray | $21.95
This is a great multi-function product to spritz on before blow-drying your hair or using other hot tools. It protects, smoothes, and adds shine without weighing hair down. I’m still partial to Bumble & Bumble’s styling lotion, which I’ve loved for years – it adds a little more texture – but I’ll definitely use the rest of this sample for traveling or getting ready at the gym.
