Good morning and happy Friday! Today, at long last, I present to you Friday Favorites #5. A version has been saved in my drafts since July 14th, so I figured now would be a good time to clean it up and publish it.
Freebird by Steven Mules
I discovered Steve Madden’s Freebird line about a year ago when A&F started working with them as a third party vendor. Adam bought me a pair of their lace-up ankle boots as an early birthday present in the fall and I stomped around in them basically every day until it snowed, so Freebird was one of the first brands I searched when I wanted to add a pair of mules to my closet. I ordered these and was not disappointed! They’re comfortable enough to walk around in all day (especially if you pair them with boyfriend jeans and a t-shirt, as I typically do), and while they’re kind of expensive, the quality is there – the leather is super soft, and the shoes aren’t showing any wear and tear. You can shop them here, if you like.
Orange is the New Black Season 4
I know I’m late to the party on this, but as I mentioned, I started this post a month ago. I had gotten a little bored with OINTB season 3, but this past season was INSANE. I’d definitely set aside 13 hours and watch it straight through if you haven’t yet.
10-to-1 Bodyweight Workout
I’m always looking for workouts I can do in my apartment, even when it’s warm out. This bodyweight workout I recently saw on PBFingers (one of the blogs I read regularly) requires no equipment, and one graphic in the post includes labeled pictures for all eight of the exercises, so it’s really easy to follow. You just perform 10 reps of each exercise, followed by 9 reps of each exercise, and so on down to 1. I couldn’t even finish it and my hips/butt were sore for three days after, but I’d rather have to tone something down than feel like I wasted my time.
Oikos Crunch Key Lime Crumble
I normally find Greek yogurt too sour, but this kind comes with enough graham cracker crumbles and white chocolate pieces to make it taste like dessert. It might not be a perfect breakfast, but replacing my evening bowl of ice cream with one of these feels like a good trade. Not that I’ve actually done that.
I’ll leave you with this picture of sweet Bobbin’s afternoon nap from a couple weeks ago. I’m back to watching to Olympics until I most likely fall asleep at 9:30 pm…have a good one!
